Clayton 5.1 (31) defeated by Murrumbeena 6.9 (45)

In a tight match between the fourth-placed Murrumbeena and fifth-placed Clayton, Murrumbeena have taken the chocolates this week as they move into third on the ladder and begin to stake their claim as big players come finals.

Murrumbeena went into this match as favourites, but knew they would have to dig deep to get the win against Clayton, who have taken it to some really tough opposition. But the goals all went the way of Murrumbeena, with just three individual goal kickers scoring six between them. Aisling Muir shone for the winning side, kicking three and making her presence felt on the scoreboard.

South Yarra 1.0 (6) defeated by Frankston Dolphins 9.7 (61)

In a curtain raiser match held at Trevor Barker Beach Oval prior to the inaugural Sandringham Pride Cup match, the Frankston Dolphins once again proved to the competition why they are on top.

Keeping South Yarra to just one goal from one shot, while the Dolphins earned themselves 16 scoring opportunities and really running away with the game after the first quarter. At the first break it was one goal apiece, however Frankston were able to turn it around after that and pile the scores on for the rest of the day.

Lucy Smith kicked South Yarra’s only goal for the day, while the Dolphins had seven individual goal kickers and Brianna Lelley and Jillian Cowley both had two each to their names.
