SEMI FINAL 1


Oakleigh District 7.7 (49) defeated Highett 2.2 (14)


Oakleigh District advanced to a Preliminary Final match up with Mordialloc after their 35-point defeat of Highett on Saturday.

The Oaks were in control for the first half, holding the Bulldogs scoreless to lead by 21 points at half time.

Highett got on the scoreboard in the third quarter with their only two goals, but gave up two goals as well to have the margin stay at 21 points at the final change.

Oakleigh District steadied with two unanswered goals in the final quarter to secure the convincing win.

Jess Szalek was the Oaks best, with Grace McKinley, Emily McIntyre (3 goals), Alexandra Rowledge, Kitty Sels and Rachel McNamara sharing the load.

Kirsty and Jennifer Blackman, Hannah Bowey, Philippa Kretcshmer and Zoe Rossiter were the Bulldogs best, as Bowey and Ally Gilchrist were again responsible for their goals.


SEMI FINAL 2


East Brighton 5.10 (40) defeated Hallam 2.6 (18)


Hallam’s season of improvement has come to an end following their defeat to East Brighton by 22 points.

Channing Withers continued her fantastic finals form, with her second consecutive best on ground performance for East Brighton.

Withers was ably supported by Jemima Broadhead, Anna McDonald, Aish Ravi, Siena MacShane Watt and Alannah Dalley, with Paige Hinrichs leading the goal kicking with two goals.

Amanda Valdemarin finished her season in goal kicking form, with the Hawks only two goals for the game.
