SFNL MRP & Tribunal Statement 7/05/2019

The SFNL advises that the Match Review Panel (MRP) and Independent Tribunal have completed their review of the weekend’s football:

 

Set Penalties

Tristan Brown #10 of Highett was cited by the MRP for intentionally striking Thomas Massey #14 Bentleigh during the 2nd quarter of the Round 4 Division 1 Senior match between Bentleigh and Highett at Bentleigh Reserve on Saturday 4 May 2019. Brown was offered a one (1) match Set Penalty which was accepted.

 

Patrick Jamieson #29 of East Brighton was cited by the officiating Umpire for striking Anthony O’Shea #6 Caulfield during the 1st quarter of the Round 4 Division 2 Senior match between Caulfield and East Brighton at Koorang Park on Saturday 4 May 2019. Jamieson was offered a two (2) match Set Penalty which was accepted.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201912

Daniel Osbaldeston of Moorabbin was reported by the officiating Umpire for any act of misconduct for head butting Andrew Curd #23 of Carrum Patterson Lakes at quarter time of the Round 4 Division 4 Senior Match between Carrum Patterson Lakes and Moorabbin at Roy Dore Reserve on Saturday 4 May 2019. Osbaldeston pleaded guilty at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 7 May 2019 and was found guilty and received a six (6) match suspension.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201913

Farhad Azad #17 of Endeavour Hills was reported by the officiating Umpire for striking Benjamin Djuve #20 of Black Rock during the 3rd quarter of the Round 4 Division 3 Reserves Match between Black Rock and Endeavour Hills at McDonald Reserve on Saturday 4 May 2019. Azad pleaded not-guilty at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 7 May 2019 and was found not-guilty. Azad received no suspension and is free to play.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201914

Kyle Parsons #4 of Cheltenham was cited by the MRP for making unreasonable or unnecessary contact to the face of David Marguglio #20 of Mordialloc during the 3rd quarter of the Round 4 Senior Division 1 Match between Mordialloc and Cheltenham at Ben Kavanagh Reserve on Saturday 4 May 2019. The MRP offered Parsons a set penalty of one (1) match. Parsons contested the charge at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 7 May 2019 and pleaded not-guilty. Parsons was found guilty by the Independent Tribunal and received a one (1) match suspension.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201915

Ryan Semmel #55 of Mordialloc was cited by the MRP for engaging in rough conduct against an opponent, Kyle Parsons #4 of Cheltenham, in which in the circumstances is unreasonable during the 4th quarter of the Round 4 Senior Division 1 Match between Mordialloc and Cheltenham at Ben Kavanagh Reserve on Saturday 4 May 2019. The MRP offered Semmel a set penalty of one (1) match. Semmel contested the charge at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 7 May 2019 and pleaded not-guilty and was found not-guilty. Semmel received no suspension and is free to play.

Christopher Morrison #7 of Clayton was cited by the MRP for rough conduct against Connor Reilly #7 of Cerberus during the 2nd quarter of the Round 4 Division 3 Senior match between Cerberus and Clayton at McAuliffe Oval on Saturday 4 May 2019. Brown was offered a one (1) match Set Penalty which was accepted. The MRP determined that Morrison had no case to answer.
