SFNL Announces Football Interleague Training Squad

Division 1 heavy hitters Dingley and East Malvern have been the big winners as the Southern Football Netball League released its initial senior football interleague training squad for the 2017 AFL Victoria Community Championships.

Both the Dingoes and the Panthers have nine players selected in the 77-man squad, while Bentleigh, Cheltenham and Oakleigh District each have six.

Last year’s runner-up Caulfield leads the way in Division 2 with five players picked.

Among the big-name inclusions are Dingley co-captains Travis La Rocca and Jackson Peet, East Malvern recruits Nathan Henley, Ryan Mullet and Simon Taylor, and Bentleigh superstars Scott Lawry and Andrew Walsh.

The SFNL will take on Central Highlands Football League in both football and netball matches on Saturday 13th May.

The netball training squads will be released shortly.
