Bentleigh may not be enjoying the greatest season on the field so far in 2017, but they are certainly kicking goals off it, with the club leading way in the 2017 Best Conducted Club stakes.
The Demons have so far accrued 10,100 points to be the number one ranked club in the SFNL, more than 1000 points clear of the next best on the overall ladder.
Caulfield, the leaders in Division 2, sits in second overall on 9050 points, while Hallam (Division 3) rounds out the top three with 8800.
As part of the SFNL Best Conducted Club competition, clubs are awarded or deducted points for their compliance/non-compliance in seven key areas, including AFL Quality Club Program, payment of accounts, match day data entry, disciplinary incidents, meeting attendance, Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation program and club engagement, i.e., fielding Under 19, Women's Football and Netball teams.
The competition concludes at 31 October and cash awards for successful clubs are as follows:
In each division:
- The Best Conducted Club will receive $1,000
- The second Best Conducted Club will receive $500
- The third Best Conducted Club will receive $250
The overall Best Conducted Club across the league will receive an additional $500.
