Scott Slater has beaten a field of strong candidates and been announced as the new Senior coach of the Hallam Football Club.
Slater’s coaching philosophy, together with his commitment and experience, ensures he is well-placed to take the Hawks into what they believe will be a successful phase in their short Senior history.
Slater’s experience expands a playing career of 18 years, including stints at Hawthorn with the schoolboys academy and Under 19s squad in which he received multiple awards.
He was a part of the senior coaching staff at Narre Warren FC during their successful era in the mid-2000s and has vast experience coaching at junior level. He has spent the last seven years in development at the Dandenong Stingrays (TAC Cup) and Under 18 Championships, and with the crop of Under 19s coming through at Hallam, this will create a further feeder into senior footy.
Slater was also a part of Hallam Football Club back in 1984-86 and was a member the club’s first Junior premiership team all those years ago.
A Level 2 accredited coach, a born leader and developer, the club is thrilled with his appointment.
