After starting the 2026 season 0-3, Carrum Patterson Lakes managed to fight their way back to finish 5th in Division 3, giving the club another finals series to contend in.
Their round 4 win against Endeavour Hills kickstarted the Lions season, as they would go on to win 8 of their next 10 games, only dropping games to eventual premier Heatherton and Preliminary Finalist Black Rock.
Despite injuries to some key players, they ran out comfortable 22 point winners against Berwick Springs in the Elimination Final. The Lions held a 3 point lead at half time, and controlled the 2nd half kicking 6 goals to 3 to take home the win.
Unfortunately for them, their season would end the following week, comprehensively taken down by St Kilda City in the 1st Semi Final.
The Lions will enter the off-season with a mix of satisfaction and unfinished business. They proved it could compete for a finals position, and will look at the injuries suffered late in the season as a sign that when healthy they can compete for a premiership in 2027.
