The SFNL advises that the Match Review Panel (MRP) and Independent Tribunal have completed their review of the weekend’s football:

Set Penalties

Jordan Boggie #29 of Black Rock was cited by the officiating Umpire for engaging in rough conduct with Andrew Mitchell #2 of Endeavour Hills which in the circumstances was unreasonable during the 2nd quarter of the Round 9 Division 3 Senior match between Endeavour Hills and Black Rock at Barry Simon Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Boggie was offered a one (1) match Set Penalty which was accepted.

Brett Dawson #11 of Skye was cited by the MRP for intentionally striking Zakk Johns #45 of Doveton Eagles during the 3rd quarter of the Round 9 Division 2 Senior match between Skye and Doveton Eagles at Carrum Downs Recreation Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Dawson was offered a Set Penalty of two (2) matches which was accepted.

Zakk Johns #45 of Doveton Eagles was cited by the MRP for intentionally striking Brett Dawson #11 of Skye during the 3rd quarter of the Round 9 Division 2 Senior match between Skye and Doveton Eagles at Carrum Downs Recreation Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Johns was offered a Set Penalty of two (2) matches which was accepted.

Khaled Kandakji #45 of Oakleigh Disctrict was cited by the MRP for carelessly striking Kristen Feehan #15 of Dingley during the 2nd quarter of the Round 8 Division 1 Senior match between Oakleigh District and Dingley at Princes Highway Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Kandakji was offered a Reprimand which was accepted.

Xavier Linton #39 of East Malvern was cited by the officiating Umpire for engaging in any other act of misconduct or serious misconduct during the 2nd quarter of the Round 8 Division 1 Senior match between East Malvern and Highett at Dunlop Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Linton was offered a one (1) match Set Penalty which was accepted.

Michael McMahon #37 of Murrumbeena was cited by the MRP for intentionally engaging in rough conduct with Jessie Odell #5 of Chelsea Heights which in the circumstances was unreasonable during the 4th quarter of the Round 9 Division 2 Senior match between Murrumbeena and Chelsea Heights at Murrumbeena Park on Saturday 15 June 2019. McMahon was offered a Set Penalty of one (1) match which was accepted.

Riet Pal #18 of Keysborough was cited by the MRP for intentionally kneeing Peter Heng #7 of Springvale Districts during the 3rd quarter of the Round 9 Division 2 Senior match between Springvale Districts and Keysborough at Springvale Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Pal was offered a Reprimand which was accepted.

Thomas Valenta #24 of Murrumbeena was cited by the MRP for intentionally engaging in rough conduct with Jordan Peryman #7 of Chelsea Heights which in the circumstances was unreasonable during the 3rd quarter of the Round 9 Division 2 Senior match between Murrumbeena and Chelsea Heights at Murrumbeena Park on Saturday 15 June 2019. Valenta was offered a Set Penalty of two (2) matches which was accepted.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201928

Michael Fahey #21 of Murrumbeena was cited by the officiating Umpire for engaging in rough conduct against an opponent Jordan Peryman #7 of Chelsea Heights which in the circumstances was unreasonable during the 4th quarter of the Round 9 Division 2 Senior Match between Murrumbeena and Chelsea Heights at Murrumbeena Park on Saturday 15 June 2019. Fahey pleaded not-guilty at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 18 June 2019. Fahey was found guilty by the Independent Tribunal and received a Reprimand.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201929

Chase Griffin #18 of Hampton was cited by the officiating Umpire for engaging in rough conduct against an opponent Shaan Autor #45 of Caulfield which in the circumstances was unreasonable during the 3rd quarter of the Round 9 Division 2 Senior Match between Caulfield and Hampton at Koornang Park Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Griffin contested the charge at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 18 June 2019 and pleaded not-guilty. Griffin was found guilty by the Independent Tribunal and received a Reprimand.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201930

Michael Ashman #45 of Hampton was cited by the League for intentionally striking Pol Lavery #6 of Heatherton during the 3rd quarter of the Round 7 Division 2 Senior Match between Heatherton and Hampton at Ross Street Reserve on Saturday 25 May 2019. Ashman pleaded guilty at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 18 June 2019. Ashman was found guilty by the Independent Tribunal and received a two (2) match suspension.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201931

Matthew Thompson #1 of Springvale Districts was cited by the MRP for intentionally striking and attempting to strike Riet Pal #18 of Keysborough during the 3rd quarter of the Round 9 Division 2 Senior match between Springvale Districts and Keysborough at Springvale Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Thompson pleaded not-guilty at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 18 June 2019 and was found not-guilty. Thompson received no suspension and is free to play.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201932

Stele Slaughter #56 of Moorabbin was cited by the MRP for intentionally kneeing Charlie Gardiner #4 of Lyndhurst during the 3rd quarter of the Round 9 Division 4 Senior match between Moorabbin and Lyndhurst at Widdop Crescent Reserve on Saturday 15 June 2019. Slaughter contested the charge at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 18 June 2019 and pleaded not-guilty. Slaughter was found guilty by the Independent Tribunal and received a two (2) match suspension.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201933

Christopher Deluca #4 of Port Melbourne Colts was found guilty of intentionally engaging in rough conduct against Tom Brown #17 of Highett which in the circumstances was unreasonable at the Independent Tribunal (#201927) on Tuesday 11 June 2019 and received a four (4) match suspension. The Port Melbourne Colts successfully lodged an appeal against the decision made by the Tribunal. The appeal hearing was held Wednesday 19 June 2019 in which Deluca pleaded guilty to the charge of engaging in rough conduct against Tom Brown #17 of Highett which in the circumstances was unreasonable. Deluca was found guilty and received a reduced two (2) week suspension.
