Vale Derek King

The SFL is saddened to hear of the passing of Derek King.

Derek was a highly decorated footballer in the old VFA for Oakleigh and Caulfield, where he won a JJ Liston trophy whilst playing for Oakleigh (B&F VFA Division 1) and also the Field Medal whilst playing for Caulfield (B&F VFA Division 2).

Derek played at St.Kilda City (SESFL) in 1981 and coached at Oakleigh District (Federal FL), Noble Park (Federal FL), Ashburton (SESFL), Caulfield/Ashburton (SESFL) and St. Kilda City (SESFL/SFL) where he coach 2 premierships, taking the club from Third division to First division.  Derek also coached South Yarra in 1999, 2000 and 2001 (SFL).
