It is with deep regret that the East Malvern FC announces the passing of club legend, Bert Liddell, on 26 August 2014 at the age of 91.
Bert joined Malvern Amateur Football Club in 1948 and retired from football in 1973 at the age of 50, having played 287 matches.
Bert coached the Reserves for three years between 1963 and 1965, and was awarded Life Membership of the Tooronga Malvern Football Club in 1965.
He served on the SFL Tribunal for a number of years and was awarded Life Membership of the Southern Football League in 1994.
As a player, coach, committeeman, but most of all a presence, Bert will be sorely missed at East Malvern.
