The Weekend That Was

Round 4 – Southern FM ‘Match of the Round’

Round 4 saw the SFNL Radio team take the ‘Caravan of Coverage’ down to Edinburgh Reserve to call the Division 3 Senior Game between Sandown & Lyndale. It turned out to be a cracking game so for those who missed it, you can hear the boys call HERE.

‘Sunday Football Netball Radio Show’
As always, Wiz, Coutta and the Bug reviewed all the action from the weekend. This week they were joined by SFNL Netball corresponded Alicia Wise to cover the Netball results and former General Manger – Operations Matthew Duck who said his goodbye’s as well as playing a little Johnny Cash number. Listen to the Round Wrap-Up and Matt’s performance HERE, or via ‘Media’, then ‘Radio’, then ‘Podcasts’.

BLK Player of the Round

Mitch Uaongo - Sandown Cobras Football Club

Spending an entire afternoon in the ruck is a difficult task, but Uaongo did it with aplomb. Time and again he leapt over his Lyndale counterpart to give his midfielders first use of the pill around the stoppages. Despite his fatigue he continued to work, getting better as the day progressed and was instrumental in his side's narrow victory.

Congratulations Mitch.

 Leader Shooting Star

Jordan Grubb - Skye Football Club

Jordan is in his first season with the Skye FC and has been in consistent form to start the year. Jordan is linking up with the midfield nicely which is enabling Skye to bring the ball into the forward 50 at pace, heaping pressure on opposing backlines. Jordan has a high work rate and is always presenting at the contests,

Congratulations Jordan
