On Wednesday evening, the Southern Football Netball League held the very first Southern Sista's Seminar, Finding Balance with over 70 attending the event that was led by MC and SFNL Board Member Chelsea Frawley, who was joined by Laura Kane (AFL Executive, General Manager of Football), Holly Bailey (Founder, Play Like A Girl Australia) and Amanda Del Petre (Tennis Australia Directori of Product & Customer Experience, as well as SFNL Board Member).
The event was held at RSEA Park where we heard the real world experiences of finding work life balanace in the busy digital age and how sporting opportunities for women in the current world of the AFLW and community women's football have come a long way from the past.
League Chief Executive Officer, Lee Hartman branded the night a huge success.
"The first event of the re-launched “Southern Sista’s” was a huge success, with the panel assembled of Laura Kane, Holly Bailey , Amanda Del Prete and hosted by Chelsea Frawley it was a chance for our female club members to come together to hear how these professionals find balance within their hectic careers and their family & social life. They all gave great insight and tips on how to achieve great results and juggle life’s pressures. Everyone that attended got something out of it"
Hartman also added that the league's objective is to now grow the concept within the Southern Football Netball League clubs with the next event on August 23, the Women's Grand Final Breakfast.
"We would like this concept to grow within our Southern clubs, the next event being our annual Female Grand Final breakfast on Friday 23
rd August. We also plan to run some online sessions to help support the “Southern Sista’s”
