The Southern Football Netball League is very pleased to announce the 2016 SFNL SAS Security Finals Series’ football venues, subject to final Council approval.
All clubs were sent an Expression of Interest response document in early April this year, where nine clubs took the opportunity to register their interest in being Manager Clubs for the 2016 SFNL SAS Security Finals Series.
As per season 2015, there was the option to split finals across multiple venues. Clubs were then invited to tender to host a share of the finals series or to exclusively host an entire division.
All nine clubs were sent a Request for Tender document that explained the requirements of the League and the Manager Club. Six clubs then submitted a tender response, of which three tender submissions were standouts above the rest and as a result have been allocated exclusive hosting rights for 2016.
The 2016 SFNL SAS Security Final Series’ venues, subject to final Council approval, are:
Division 1 & Under 19 – Springvale Reserve (Springvale Districts Football Club)
Division 2 & Thirds – Jack Barker Oval (Cheltenham Football Netball Club)
Division 3 – Heatherton Recreation Reserve (Heatherton Football Netball Club)
Speaking on the SFNL radio program,
The 5th Quarter, on 88.3 Southern FM on Sunday morning, General Manager Operations Adam Sparrow acknowledged all clubs that tendered this year.
“The SFNL wish to firstly thank all clubs that completed the tender process,” Mr Sparrow said.
“All clubs must be acknowledged for the enormous work that went into the tender submissions. It certainly made for a tough decision for the board and administration.
“After completing a thorough tender process we have come to a decision that we feel will benefit all of the League’s stakeholders and ensure a successful 2016 SFNL SAS Security Finals Series.
“The SFNL will be providing feedback to all clubs that tendered to assist them in improving their tenders in 2017 as we look to continue to raise the bar.”
