The Southern Football League is excited to announce some very special guests will be attending next month’s 2015 Season Launch.
Victorian Premier The Hon Daniel Andrews MP, Netball Victoria CEO Michelle Plane and
beyondblue CEO Georgie Harman will be guest speakers at the Season Launch function on Saturday, April 11 at Sandy by the Bay, Trevor Barker Oval.
The Season Launch will incorporate an electrifying round 1 match under lights between last year’s Division 1 Senior Grand Finalists East Brighton and Dingley to kick-off at 7:30pm.
The SFL has partnered with
beyondblue and the two teams will be playing for the
beyondblue Cup.
The partnership will see the entire first home and away football / netball round branded “
beyondblue round 1” which will aim to raise awareness and understanding of depression and anxiety while promoting
beyondblue messages through fundraising initiatives.
The night will also feature a curtain raiser match with the East Brighton and Dingley under 19s.
SFL CEO David Cannizzo said that the night will provide a very good opportunity to highlight the mental health challenges that exist in society.

beyondblue and creating the opportunity to raise awareness and have conversations in the interest of supporting our community.”

Cannizzo also alluded to a landmark announcement that will be made at the Season Launch function.
“Following the support of member clubs in the last week, we also look forward to making a very exciting announcement regarding the league brand.”
