The SFNL radio team has taken home its second consecutive AFL Victoria Community Media Award at a special luncheon at Ikon Park on Friday afternoon.
The League's Sunday Football Netball Show on 88.3 Southern FM won the gong for Best Radio Show, narrowly beating the Essendon District Football League for the title.
The win comes on the back of the Match of the Day commentary team's success in the Best Match Day Radio Coverage category last year.
The Radio Team's Executive Producer Robert Sharpe said he was immensely proud of the team's achievements this year.
"I am very proud of what we have achieved with the Sunday Show by winning this award," Sharpe said.
"The on-air team take great pleasure in entertaining our loyal listeners and Karl Bianco does a great job paneling the show.
"We'd also like to thank the clubs for their support in supplying guests for the show each week.
"Stay tuned as in 2016 we will be back bigger and better."
The SFNL received eight shortlisted nominees across five separate categories, the most of any community football league in Victoria.
Remarkably, all four of the League's football scribes were shortlisted in the Best Football Column for their weekly SFNL Record columns.
SFNL Media Officer Will Hunter said it was great recognition for both the League and its dedicated and talented media team.
"The League has spent a great deal of time and effort over the last 12 months to develop and expand its media operations and to have eight shortlisted at the AFL Victoria Community Media Awards and come away with an award for the second straight year is just a fantastic result," Hunter said.
"Full credit must go to our team of journalists, photographers and radio broadcasters who have worked tirelessly throughout the year and have given the SFNL outstanding coverage. It's terrific to see them recognised for their efforts."
