The SFL and Umpires Association joined hundreds of sporting organisations across the country for Pink Sports Day on Saturday 11 May. Money was raised right across the league for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) who supports women and their families that have been affected by Breast Cancer. Some great initiatives were carried out including ‘tin shakers’ collecting donations around the grounds, decorated marquee’s at the game, special events held in honour of key people within a club affected by Breast Cancer, players wearing pink arm tape and even Pink food!
Fantastic effort to all those who got involved and a special mention to the following clubs who provided feedback and photos – it was great to see:
Sandown Cobras Football Club
St Kilda City Football Club
Dingley Netball and Football Club
Cheltenham Football Club
Also a big shout out to Jo Cripps from the SFL Umpires Association who was the driving force behind this wonderful annual event.
