Peter Mair Moving On

It is with disappointment that we advise Southern Football Netball League Director of Umpiring (Football) Peter Mair will not be continuing in his role in 2016.

Peter has accepted an exciting new full-time role at AFL Victoria as Umpiring Operations Manager with the VFL Umpiring Department.

Peter has done a wonderful job with the SFNL umpiring group over the last seven years and his work was recently acknowledged with the AFL Victoria Metro Umpire Coach of the Year and the Victorian Government’s State Coach of the Year awards.

A number of key changes have been facilitated through Peter’s leadership including fostering one of Australia’s largest female-participated umpiring groups and promoting a large number of SFNL umpires to VFL/AFL.

On behalf of the SFNL Board and Administration, we thank Peter for his enormous commitment to the role and wish him all the very best in the future.

THE Southern Football Netball League (SFNL) is now seeking a Director of Umpiring to manage the league’s football umpiring department.

The SFNL is the premier local sporting competition in the southern and south-east suburbs of Melbourne.

The SFNL consists of 33 senior football clubs across three divisions and 90 football teams spread from inner-city suburb Port Melbourne to Hallam on the south-east fringes of Melbourne.

  • The management of the SFNL Football Umpire Department

  • The appointment and management of all coaches for each umpire discipline
