NETBALL ROUND 10 UPDATE

An amazing day of netball happened last week.

The weather was perfect and there were many close contests, with 2 draws in B1, South Yarra v Dingley, and Mordialloc v Black Rock.

It was great to see lots of smiles and many comments that everyone was grateful to be back on court.

Prior to the latest Melbourne lockdown there were a number of unsportsmanlike behaviours occurring within our netball community.  It seems that poor player and spectator behaviour has been reported from many Leagues and Netball Victoria have addressed this through social media and club correspondence.

The wellbeing of your teammates, opponents, umpires, coaches and the whole netball community, but most importantly YOU, must be at the centre of our sport.

Whilst we come from various backgrounds and our everyday lives differ, when we come together to play netball, OUR sport, we want everyone to be able to enjoy their game.  Let’s be kind, inclusive and respectful to everyone in the SFNL netball community.  There is no need for abuse, name calling or discriminatory comments.  The saying “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything” needs to be front of mind.

With only six rounds to go before finals, let’s make our hour of sport and fresh air, fun for everyone and set your minds that it’s a privilege to be able to play this great game.
