The opening games of netball were played in typical Dingley weather conditions with wind and annoying drizzle falling for the first 2 rounds of grading.
Grading games are being played on 2/4 and 9/4 to select the best competitive grades for the 96 teams entered in 2022.
Teams play 4 opposition teams playing mini matches of 2 x 7 minute halves, which is the equivalent of a full one hour game.
New colours were on display with Cranbourne, Doveton Doves, Aspendale Arrows and East Malvern joining the comp for 2022.
All 16 netball courts at Rowan Rd were in use with over 900 participants playing or officiating throughout the day.
No wonder the canteen sold out!
Terrific comraderie with the umpire fraternity supporting each other and looking after the new-to-SFNL umpires.
Several trainee umpires also were courtside with their whistles, to have a go. Well done to the Clubs who offered people to assist.
Looking at all the participants and spectators this week, the scene is set for a wonderful SFNL netball season.
Some action photos from the weekend.
