It is with great disappointment that the Southern Football League advise Matt Duck has tendered his resignation as General Manager – Operations of the Southern Football League.
Matt has accepted a position heading up state sporting organisation Diving Victoria as State Executive Officer.
While it is very disappointing to be losing Matt, we completely respect his appetite to lead a state sporting organisation and understand that this is a fantastic opportunity for him.
Chief Executive Officer David Cannizzo explained that Matt has done an enormous amount for the SFL.
“Matt has been a wonderful asset to the SFL over the last four years overseeing a number of critical strategic objectives including the launch of the SFL netball competition, which has grown from 7 teams in 2012 to 50 plus teams in 2015. He has also overseen representative football with the SFL participating in the AFL Victoria Metropolitan Seniors Championships and club growth seeing the formation of Endeavour Hills, Hallam and Carrum Patterson Lakes Football Clubs along with the acquisition of Bentleigh and Keysborough Football Clubs from other Leagues.”
“On behalf of the SFL Board and Administration, we thank Matt for his enormous commitment to the role and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”
Matt will formally finish at the SFL on Wednesday 6th May.
The SFL will begin advertising for the position in the next week.
