Outgoing Mordialloc coach Sam Anstey has been announced as a shortlisted nominee for the Gerard Fitzgerald Senior Coach of the Year Award.
Anstey is one of just four men in the running for the prestigious Australian Football Coaches Association gong which recognises coaching excellence and their contribution to community football.
This season Anstey led Mordialloc from fifth place to their third successive Grand Final in one of the all-time great finals performances. In doing so, the Bloods became just the second team team in SFNL history to reach a Division 1 decider the year after winning a Division 2 premiership.
The winner of the Gerard Fitzgerald Senior Coach of the Year will be announced at the AFL Victoria Community Football Awards on Friday November 6.
