The Southern Football League is very pleased to announce the 2014 SFL SAS Security Finals Series’ venues, subject to final Council approval.
The early announcement of SFL SAS Security Finals Series’ venues is unprecedented for the League, which has worked hard to commence the Finals Series tender process even earlier this year.
All clubs were sent an Expression of Interest response document in early May this year, where six clubs took the opportunity to register their interest in being Manager Clubs for the 2014 SFL SAS Security Finals Series.
All six clubs were sent a Request for Tender document which explained the requirements of the League and the Manager Club. The quality and professionalism of the six tenders were exceptional and made for a difficult decision for the SFL Board.
The SFL SAS Security Final Series’ venues for 2014, subject to final Council approval are:
Division 1 and Under 19s – Springvale Reserve (Springvale Districts Football Club) Division 2 and Thirds – Cheltenham Recreation Reserve (Cheltenham Football Club) Division 3 – Heatherton Recreation Reserve (Heatherton Football Netball Club)
Speaking earlier today on the Sunday Radio Show on 88.3 Southern FM, Chief Executive Officer David Cannizzo expressed his thanks to all clubs that tendered this year.
“The SFL wish to thank and acknowledge all six clubs for the enormous work that went into each of their tender submissions. The board and administration have been truly impressed with the quality and high level proposals presented this year and it made for a difficult task in choosing the three selected venues.”
“On review of the process we strongly believe it has been a transparent, thorough and fair process for all parties involved, however the reality is we need to be encouraging more clubs to host finals and provide our clubs access to this revenue opportunity.”
“The SFL will be investigating dual hosting models at the end of the season which could involve two clubs hosting a particular division over the four week Finals Series. With another six very impressive tenders received this year, all these clubs need to be rewarded for the effort and high level detail submitted in their tender.”
