Not only did Chelsea Heights break through for its first win of the season last Saturday at Beazley Reserve, but it did it in style with an emphatic 50-point victory over Cheltenham.
“It was a great day for the club,” Demons coach Brad Canavan said after the game.
“We had a past players day and really had something to celebrate. It was a good, four-quarter effort and has been coming for a while.
“We’ve been competitive at stages in most games, but with such a young group, the consistency hasn’t been there.”
Canavan sensed a change in fortunes at training during the week.
“There was something different happening. We had more on the track on Tuesday night than we’ve had all season and the mood was different,” he said.
“The players trained really well and have reaped the reward.”
