Adam Sparrow Resigns

It is with disappointment that the Southern Football Netball League advises Adam Sparrow has tendered his resignation as the League's General Manager – Operations.

Adam has accepted a position as Manager – Football Operations at the Western Region Football League.

While it is very disappointing to be losing Adam, we completely respect his appetite to lead the operations of a community football league that has a junior and senior arm.

Chief Executive Officer David Cannizzo explained that Adam has done an enormous amount for the SFNL over the last three seasons.

“Adam has been a wonderful leader at the SFNL over the last three years, overseeing a number of critical strategic objectives. This includes the launch of the SFNL 10-team women’s football competition, which has seen a significant club development and culture change process implemented," Cannizzo said.

“Adam has overseen a revamp of representative football with the SFNL winning in the last two Senior AFL Victoria Community Championships. In addition, he has driven continued League growth through an increase in netball teams, club growth with the transfer of Port Melbourne Colts to the SFNL and an expansion of under 19 football teams.

“On behalf of the SFNL Board and Administration, we thank Adam for his enormous commitment to the role and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”

Adam will finish at the SFNL on Friday 18th August.

The SFNL will begin advertising for the position shortly.
