On Saturday the SFNL Radio team took the 'Caravan of Coverage' to Princes Highway Reserve for the massive Multicultural Round clash between Division 2 heavyweights Oakleigh District and Murrumbeena. If you missed it, you can listen to the boys call HERE.
Sunday Football Netball Radio Show
As always Wiz, Coutta and the Bug reviewed all the action from the weekend. In celebration of Multicultural Round, the boys were joined by Michael ‘Buddy’ Spohn, the American-born star from the Black Rock Football Club. Listen to the round wrap-up HERE or via ‘Media’, then ‘Radio’, then ‘Podcasts’.
BLK Player of the Round
Andy Howison - Oakleigh District FC
In conditions not suited to slick ball use, Howison stood out with his clean disposal by hand and foot. His ability to win the ball out of the stoppages was first rate, and his delivery inside 50 gave his forward targets every opportunity to mark the footy. Born and raised in New Zealand, it was fitting that Howison claimed this award on Multicultural Round.
Congratulations Andy.
Leader Shooting Star
Andy Din - Dingley FC
Andy is in his second year with the Dingoes after having played every game in his first season at the club last year. He has been rewarded for his great form in 2015 with his debut in the senior team. Andy was instrumental in helping his side win a close game against Bentleigh last week with his best afield performance to back up another best on ground against Bentleigh earlier in the year. He will be exciting to watch during the finals series as he helps his teammates strive for glory.
