The 2013 season of the SFL Netball Competition kicks off this week and it is set to be an exciting season with 20 teams registered over three divisions.
With over 200 players and almost tripling the amount of teams from 2012, April 20 will see Rowans Road Netball Complex Dingley come to life with a fantastic line up of players and supporters.
Clubs have worked incredibly hard over the off season to bring together teams and raise the profile of the competition in our local community.
We would like to thank Elizabeth Miller, State Member for Bentleigh for her continuing support as the SFL Netball Ambassador. Elizabeth’s involvement will see continual growth and development of the competition and her dedication and commitment is much appreciated.
Heatherton will, no doubt, be a strong contender again this year after winning the Grand Final in 2012. Last year’s runners up, Dingley, will have a big say again and St Pauls and Mordialloc are also tipped to be strong sides.
With so many new clubs and teams in the competition, the remainder are a little unknown - only time will tell how it rounds out, but we can’t wait! Lots of up and coming, talented players with a will to succeed and a strong team spirit will make for some awesome matches.
We wish all clubs, teams and players the best of luck for the season.
