After a drama-filled week that saw the exit of co-coach Rob Kreskas, Doveton Eagles lifted in the final quarter for a morale-boosting 15-point victory over Heatherton at Power Road.
It was the Eagles’ first win of the season and signals a fresh start for the club, according to coach Daniel Macklin.
“It was great to get the monkey off the back,” he said of the win.
“It has been a tough week but the boys rallied to the cause and I could not have asked for a better effort.
“There is a great feeling around the club now that everything has been sorted out.”
