Local rivals St Kilda City and East Brighton will meet each other at the Peanut Farm Reserve in St Kilda this Saturday for the inaugural Bendigo Bank Elwood - Community Cup. The Elwood Community Bank sponsors both sides as a part of their ongoing program of investing profits into the local community.
St Kilda City President, Shaun Cotter commented "We appreciate the ongoing support of the Bendigo Bank in Elwood. They were one of the first businesses I spoke to after taking on the role of president and they were supportive from the start."
Both sides have had a mixed start to the season with St Kilda losing their first 2 games before hitting form against Highett last weekend. The Vampires demolished Highett in round 1 before being beaten convincingly by St Pauls at Hurlingham Park in round 2, and made light work of Heatherton in Round 3.
With a big crowd expected and the added incentive of a new cup for the trophy cabinet it's sure to be a cracking encounter. Reserves start at 12:15 pm and the main game kicks off at 2:30 pm.
