Southern Football League - Media Statement - Sunday 14 September
The Southern Football League Board today met to discuss the Division 3 Senior Grand Final at Heatherton Recreation Reserve that was not completed on Saturday 13th September 2014.
The League are extremely disappointed with an incident that occurred at half-time, as the players were leaving the ground. The decision to not complete the match was made after consultation with members of Victoria Police who were present at the ground.
The Southern Football League Board has today determined that the Division 3 Senior Grand Final will not be replayed and an independent investigator has been appointed to report with respect to the incident. The Board will not make a decision regarding the result of the match or other matters concerning the incident until after the independent investigation has been completed.
The League will not be making any further comment until after the investigator's report is received.
