Best and Fairest - Ben Marron

Leading Goal Kicker - Matthew Johansson (39 goals)

The Moorabbin Kangaroos’ 2026 season in the Southern Football Netball League was a year of rebuilding, resilience and gradual improvement, as the club worked to establish a stronger foundation under senior coach Matt Ferguson.

Moorabbin's 2026 campaign was an important step in its rebuilding process. The senior side showed encouraging improvement as the season progressed. Their breakthrough win over Doveton and the dramatic final-round victory over Narre South provided two memorable highlights.

A major positive was the commitment shown by the coaching group. Ferguson recommitted to the senior coaching role through to 2028, while reserves coach John Riddock also signed on for a further two years. Those decisions provide continuity as the club looks to develop its list and strengthen its culture.

The biggest takeaway was that the Kangaroos finished the season with renewed momentum and a clearer direction for the future. With coaching stability and further development of the playing group, the focus heading into 2027 will be to turn those positive signs into greater consistency and more wins.
