It is always an exciting time of the SFNL netball season for Mothers Day Round

To kick off the round, Hampton Park will be playing at home to celebrate a stunning milestone of 300 games!

Deniz Berkman and Tarni Cooper of the Narre South Saints have been working hard behind the scenes to pull together a mothers day raffle.

Over $1,000 worth of donations have been collected from all corners of the Saint’s community and together alongside their netballers have some amazing prices on offer.

Cooper has wrapped and presented twelve to fourteen raffle prizes herself and the coaching staff hope that the raffle will raise a nice amount of money which will be donated to breast cancer research.

There are also Mothers Day BCNA beanies for sale on the clubs website, “This weekend we would love to see as many pink beanies as possible in support of the great work by Breast Cancer Network Australia.”

The raffle will be drawn at 5:00 PM tomorrow, buy tickets and beanies on their website here: https://narresouthsaintsfnc.com.au/

Around the courts there will be plenty of pink, a member of the Bentleigh FNC coaching staff, Mikayla Ruddy has always held this cause close to her heart.

“It’s such an important day for raising awareness for the breast cancer network Australia.”

The Bentleigh Demons will be donning a few pink extras on their uniforms this week, an ode to the breast cancer survivors who are part of the club’s community.

“Many women in my life have been affected by breast cancer, including my mum and grandmother who are the strongest women I know.”

Pink sports day has been celebrated at all levels of Netball and community sport for several years, netballers at SDNA are excited to celebrate mums everywhere.

“It’s a great weekend of celebrating mums everywhere, including those we’ve lost and appreciating all they do for us.”
