2015 Final's Venues

The Southern Football Netball League is very pleased to announce the 2015 SFNL SAS Security Finals Series’ football venues, subject to final Council approval.

All clubs were sent an Expression of Interest response document in early May this year, where nine clubs took the opportunity to register their interest in being Manager Clubs for the 2015 SFNL SAS Security Finals Series.

All nine clubs were sent a Request for Tender document which explained the requirements of the League and the Manager Club. Seven clubs submitted a tender and they were all at a good standard making for a difficult decision for the SFNL Board.

Unlike previous years when there was only the offer for three hosting Manager Clubs (one for each division), this year each division had the offer to have two hosting groups as follows:
• One Manager Club allocated weeks 1 and 3 together; and
• One Manager Club allocated weeks 2 and 4 together.
Clubs were able to tender for the entire division as their final request (if they chose), therefore should less than the required number of clubs tender or the other tenders not be up to sufficient standard, the SFNL could then allocate finals exclusively to one club at their discretion.

As a result, the SFNL SAS Security Final Series’ venues for 2015, subject to final Council approval are:

Division 1 & Under 19s – Springvale Reserve (Springvale Districts Football Club)

Division 2 & Thirds (Blue) – Jack Barker Oval (Cheltenham Football Club)

Division 3 & Thirds (Red)-Weeks 1 & 3 – Meade Reserve (Clayton Football Club)

Division 3 & Thirds (Red)-Weeks 2 & 4 – Heatherton Recreation Reserve (Heatherton Football Netball Club)

Speaking earlier today on the SFNL Sunday Radio Show on 88.3 Southern FM, Chief Executive Officer David Cannizzo expressed his thanks to all clubs that tendered this year.

“The SFNL wish to thank and acknowledge all seven clubs for the enormous work that went into each of their tender submissions. The board and administration have again been impressed with the quality of proposals presented this year and it made for a challenging task in choosing the selected venues,” said Cannizzo.

“On review of the process we strongly believe it has been a transparent, thorough and fair process for all parties involved. We are pleased we have been able to encourage more clubs to host finals and provide our clubs access to this revenue opportunity.”

“The SFNL will be providing feedback to all clubs that tendered to assist them in improving their tenders in 2016.”
