Vale Tim Sim

The Southern Football Netball League extends its sincere condolences to the Sim family and the Black Rock FNC on the recent passing of former premiership player Timothy John Sim.

Sim was a much-loved figure at the Jets, and indeed the SFNL community over many years. A wingman/half forward, Sim played 200 games at Black Rock, featured in the club's 2007 premiership team and earned Life Membership of the club.

Sim, 42, fought a long battle with multiple myeloma and inspired many with his courage and resilience.

The club have also announced that they will recognise his contribution and courage by naming an award his honour. The Timothy Sim Courage Award will be presented each year to the Black Rock footballer that best exemplifies on the field the strength and determination that Sim displayed throughout his battle with illness.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist his wife Steph and young daughter Bonnie during this difficult time.
