SFNL Under 19 Coach, Squad Announced

The SFNL has released a 48-man training squad for its 2018 Under 19 Football Interleague team, with 16 SFNL clubs represented among the selections.

Last year's Under 19 representative skipper Jayce Morgan returns, while 2017 Sparrow Medallist Anthony Malamas (Cheltenham) and Leader Shooting Star winner Robert Lega Frost (Parkmore/Springvale Districts) headline the big-name inclusions.

Meanwhile, Dingley's Jimmy Cullen has been appointed as the head coach of the SFNL's Under 19 interleague team for 2018. Cullen, the current Dingoes Under 19s coach, has previous been involved in the SFNL U19 Interleague set up as an assistant coach to Nathan Harris, and is looking forward to taking the reins of the side.

Cullen will be aided by Assistant Coach Wayne Herbstreit, who will bring his wealth of experience to the SFNL Interleague set up for a third consecutive year.

Training for both Under 19 and Senior football squads begins tonight at Springvale Reserve, with Southern to play North Central Football League in Boort on Saturday 19 May as part of the 2018 Worksafe AFL Victoria Community Championships.
