The SFNL advises that the Match Review Panel (MRP) and Independent Tribunal have completed their review of the weekend’s football:
Set Penalties
Joshua Johns (#46 Doveton Eagles) was reported by the officiating field umpire for disputing an umpiring decision during the 1st and 3rd quarter of the Round 15 Thirds Match between Sandown and Doveton Eagles at Edinburgh Reserve on Friday 26 July 2019. Joshua was offered a one (1) match set penalty which was accepted.
Sean Walton (#21 Caulfield) was cited by the MRP for kicking Bradley Gilder (#6 Chelsea Heights) during the 3rd quarter of the Round 15 Division 2 Senior Match between Caulfield and Chelsea Heights at Koornang Park on Saturday 27 July 2019. Sean was offered a one (1) match set penalty which was accepted.
Chanel Latotoa (#24 St Kilda City) was reported by the officiating field umpire for striking Kyle Parsons (#8 Cheltenham) during the 3rd quarter of the Round 14 Division 1 Senior Match between St Kilda City and Cheltenham at Peanut Farm Reserve on Saturday 27 July 2019. Chanel was offered a two (2) match set penalty which was accepted.
Edward Greene (#13 St Kilda City) was reported by the officiating field umpire for behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an Umpire during 4th quarter of the Round 14 Division 1 Senior Match between St Kilda City and Cheltenham at Peanut Farm Reserve on Saturday 27 July 2019. Edward was offered a two (2) match set penalty with a further one (1) match suspended until the end of the 2020 season which was accepted.
Tribunal Hearing 201945
Torren Bonnett (#20 Port Melbourne Colts) was referred to the Independent Tribunal via an investigation for engaging in rough conduct with Harrison Hunt (#5 St Pauls) which in the circumstances was unreasonable during the 2nd quarter of the Round 13 Division 1 Senior Match between St Pauls and Port Melbourne Colts at McKinnon Reserve on Saturday 20 July 2019. The charge was heard at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 30 July 2019. Torren pleaded not-guilty and was found not-guilty.
Tribunal Hearing 201946
Harry Haley (#77 Mordialloc) was cited by the MRP for engaging in rough conduct with Tom Brown (#17 Highett) which in the circumstances was unreasonable during the 3rd quarter of the Round 14 Division 1 Senior Match between Mordialloc and Highett at Ben Kavanagh Reserve on Saturday 27 July 2019. The MRP offered Harry a set penalty of two (2) matches. Harry contested the charge at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 30 July 2019. Harry pleaded not-guilty and was found not-guilty.

The charge was heard at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Wednesday 31 July 2019. Daniel pleaded guilty and was found guilty and received a four (4) match suspension.

Rafi Taniwal (#23 Dandenong) was cited by the MRP for striking Lachlan Fielding (#44 Frankston Dolphins) during the 2nd quarter of the Round 15 Division 4 Senior Match between Dandenong and Frankston Dolphins at Greaves Reserve on Saturday 27 July 2019. The MRP offered Rafi a set penalty of two (2) matches. Rafi contested the charge at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Wednesday 31 July 2019. Rafi pleaded not-guilty and was found not-guilty.
