Vale Kevan Hamilton

The Southern Football Netball League extends its sincere condolences to the Hamilton family on the recent passing of Kevan ‘Icy’ Hamilton.

Hamilton’s dominance in the Federal Football League over a long period of time saw him honoured as an inaugural inductee into the SFNL Hall of Fame in 2015.

After making his senior debut with McKinnon as a 14-year-old in 1947, Hamilton became one of the Federal League’s all-time greats, winning the prestigious JW Allnutt Trophy as the League’s fairest and best player a record five times, including in four consecutive years between 1961-1964.

A damaging rover that was dangerous up forward, Hamilton also played 11 VFL games for Carlton in 1956 and finished the season as the Blues’ leading goalkicker
