When it comes to football, there isn’t much John Bennett hasn’t achieved.
After a distinguished playing career with St Kilda, Footscray and Sandringham, Bennett returned to the local scene with East Brighton as a playing coach. The goal kicking machine guided the Vampires to the 1991 and 1993 premierships, kicking over 100 goals in 1993 to cap off the perfect season. Leaving East Brighton as a two time premiership coach, Bennett took over the reins at Heatherton where he was able to add another two premierships to his coaching CV.
Ian Dougherty recently sat down with this Hall of Fame inductee to find out a little more about his amazing football journey.
The Southern Football Netball League Hall of Fame will be held at Sandy by the Bay on Wednesday July 6th.
