TALENTED SFNL UMPIRES PROGRESS TO VFL

In a great boost for the SFNL’s umpiring department, nine of the league’s top whistle-blowers have been included on the VFL's umpiring list for 2019.

Joining the VFL senior list for the upcoming season are local talents Tayla Manning, Cam Watts, Luke Porter and Matt Crowley.

No strangers to the VFL system, Manning and Watts recently spent some time in the competition as rookie umpires and their development has seen them earn a senior spot.

In addition to those selected on the senior list, a further five SFNL umpires have received a place on the VFL development list.

Patrick Aurish, Darcy Trewarn, Jack Cannon, Kaitlin Barr and Lachlan Menara have all been recognised with selection and will gain great experience officiating in the newly formed NAB League, NAB League Girls and VFL Women’s competitions.

The announcement is a fantastic endorsement for the SFNL Umpires Association (SFNLUA) and outlines the professional pathway that is available to umpires within the league.

With fantastic facilities and supportive coaching staff available to all umpires, the SFNL continues to be a leader in umpire development at grass roots level and a great place to kick start an umpiring career.

Congratulations once again to all nine of our talented umpires and best of luck with your future endeavours!
