SFNL Remembrance Round 2017

This weekend the SFNL launches its inaugural Remembrance Round, which is an opportunity for the league and SFNL clubs to acknowledge and pay tribute to those within our communities we have recently lost.

All football and netball teams, officials, supporters and umpires are invited to participate in this initiative by standing for a minute's silence on the ground or court prior to the start of their games this Saturday and reflect on the lives and contributions of those who have passed away during the off-season.

As part of Remembrance Round, the SFNL would like to pay its respects to the late Rohan Schreier, who has been a wonderful servant of the league and its clubs over a long period of time.

Schreier, who tragically passed away last August, was well known in SFNL circles as a player, coach, administrator and media personality.

The SFNL would also like to acknowledge the Moorabbin Kangaroos Football Club, who last year paid tribute to former players and officials at Widdop Crescent before its Round 1 clash with Dandenong. It was their vision and initiative that has seen the move to a dedicated league-wide Remembrance Round this weekend.
