SFNL MRP & Tribunal Statement 22/05/2019

The SFNL advises that the Match Review Panel (MRP) and Independent Tribunal have completed their review of the weekend’s football:

 

Set Penalties

Dylan Chadwick #18 of the Doveton Eagles was reported by four officiating umpires for attempting to strike Jarrod Wright #25 of Springvale Districts during the 2nd quarter of the Round 6 Division 2 Reserve Match between the Doveton Eagles and Springvale Districts at Power Reserve on Saturday 18 May 2019. Dylan was offered a one (1) match set penalty which was accepted.

Jessie Odell #5 of Chelsea Heights was reported by the officiating umpire for striking Andrew Stolzenburg #49 of Caulfield during the 3rd quarter of the Round 6 Division 2 Senior Match between Chelsea Heights and Caulfield at Beazley Reserve on Saturday 18 May 2019. Jessie was offered a two (2) match set penalty which was accepted.

Jake Scobie #33 of Caulfield was reported by the officiating umpire for engaging in any other act of misconduct or serious misconduct during the 3rd quarter of the Round 6 Division 2 Senior Match between Chelsea Heights and Caulfield at Beazley Reserve on Saturday 18 May 2019. Jake was offered a one (1) match set penalty which was not accepted. The MRP reviewed the report and downgraded the penalty and offered Jake a reprimand which was accepted.

Both the Hallam and Lyndhurst football netball clubs were cited by the MRP for involvement in a melee during the 2nd quarter of the Round 6 Division 4 Senior Match between Hallam and Lyndhurst at Hallam Reserve on Saturday 18 May 2019. Both clubs were fined $100 for their involvement in the melee.

Both the Chelsea Heights and Caulfield football netball clubs were cited by the MRP for involvement in a melee during the 3rd quarter of the Round 6 Division 2 Senior Match between Chelsea Heights and Caulfield at Beazley Reserve on Saturday 18 May 2019. Both clubs were fined $100 for their involvement in the melee.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201916

George Angelopoulos #10 of Springvale Districts was reported by the officiating umpire for intentionally or carelessly striking Adam Read #36 of the Doveton Eagles during the 1st quarter of the Round 6 Division 2 Senior Match between the Doveton Eagles and Springvale Districts at Power Reserve on Saturday 18 May 2019. George pleaded not-guilty at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 21 May 2019 and was found not-guilty. George received no suspension and is free to play.

 

Tribunal Hearing #201917

Travis Graeske #32 of the Doveton Eagles was cited by the MRP for intentionally engaging in rough conduct against Tom Cooper #16 of Springvale Districts during the 2nd quarter of the Round 6 Division 2 Senior Match between the Doveton Eagles and Springvale Districts at Power Reserve on Saturday 18 May 2019. Travis pleaded not-guilty at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 21 May 2019 and was found guilty and received a two (2) match suspension.
