SFNL MRP and Tribunal Statement 20/08/2019

The SFNL advises that the Match Review Panel (MRP) and Independent Tribunal have completed their review of the weekend’s football:

 

Set Penalties

Sarah Downward (Lyndale) was offered, via investigation a one (1) match set penalty for attempting to strike and a further one (1) match penalty for misconduct during the Round 12 Division 2 Women’s match between Mordialloc and Lyndale at Ben Kavanagh Reserve on Friday 26 July 2019. Sarah accepted the two (2) match suspension.

Charlotte Davis (#13 Mordialloc) was offered, via investigation a one (1) match set-penalty for attempting to strike Carly McLaren (#19 Lyndale) during the Round 12 Division 2 Women’s match between Mordialloc and Lyndale at Ben Kavanagh Reserve on Friday 26 July 2019. Charlotte accepted the one (1) match suspension.

Regan Hall (#31 Frankston Dolphins) was reported by the officiating Field Umpire for striking Brandon Ward (#67 Lyndhurst) during the 1st quarter of the Round 18 Division 4 Senior Match between Frankston Dolphins v Lyndhurst at Overport Park on Saturday 17 August 2019. Regan was offered a two (2) match suspension which was accepted.

Nathan Robinson (#26 East Malvern) was cited by the MRP for head-butting Ed Turner (#1 Highett) during the 3rd quarter of the Round 17 Division 1 Senior Match between Highett and East Malvern at Turner Road Reserve on Saturday 17 August 2019. Nathan was offered a one (1) match suspension which was accepted.

Thomas Anderton (#29 Keysborough) was cited by the MRP for engaging in rough conduct with Matt Wetering (#18 Springvale Districts) which in the circumstances is unreasonable during the 4th quarter of the Round 18 Division 2 Senior Match between Keysborough and Springvale Districts at Keysborough Reserve on Saturday 17 August 2019. Thomas was offered a one (1) match suspension which was accepted.

Tribunal Hearing 201958

Sean McLaren (#15 Cheltenham) was cited by the MRP for striking Jack Hayes (#6 St Pauls) during the 4th quarter of the Round 17 Division 1 Senior Match between Cheltenham and St Pauls at Jack Barker Oval on Saturday 17 August 2019.  The charge was heard at the Independent Tribunal on the evening of Tuesday 20 August 2019. Sean pleaded guilty and was found guilty and received a two (2) match suspension.
