SFNL Announces Interleague Netball Team

The SFNL last night selected its Senior Netball Interleague team to take on North Central Football League at the Worksafe AFL Victoria Community Championships in a fortnight's time.

Six SFNL clubs are featured among the 10-player team, with Caulfield and St Kilda City the most represented with three players each.

Tiffany McConnell, one of the three Bears selected in the side, was chosen to lead the side as captain, while Mordialloc's Lucy McKeown has been elected vice captain.

Last night the SFNL Netball girls were put through their paces by Melbourne Vixens star Khao Watts, who ran the training session as part of the SFNL's Australia Post One Netball Community Award.

Watts, who facilitated a Q&A session with the players prior to the training session, also presented SFNL CEO Mike Palmer with the award at the end of the night. The SFNL was one of eight national recipients of the prestigious award in 2017, which recognised the SFNL's commitment to inclusion through its inaugural Pride Round.
