Roy Takes Reins at Beena

Former St Pauls premiership coach Paul Howroyd is back in the ranks of the Southern Football Netball League, recently announced as the new Senior Coach of Division 2 runner-up Murrumbeena for 2018.

Howroyd replaces the outgoing Stevie Wright, who back in July announced a move to Phillip Island for family reasons after four seasons and two Grand Final appearances at the Beena Arena.

In his five years at the Kennel, Howroyd steered the club to Division 1 Senior premierships in 2011 and 2013, and finished no lower than third during his tenure. He has also had stints at Chelsea and Upwey-Tecoma in recent seasons.

Ex-St Pauls and St Kilda City star Jay Bruno, a SFNL Division 1 Senior B&F winner back in 2009, is one of a few players to have reportedly committed to playing in the maroon and gold in 2018.
