Lyndhurst Edges out CPL in Thriller

Lyndhurst and Carrum Patterson Lakes played out the most thrilling match of the 2017 Seymour Law Cup, with the former registering their first win of the tournament.

The Lightning proved the stronger of the two team in the first half, putting through five goals to two to take a 17-point lead into the sheds.

However, the Lions came out firing after the long break, and their four third-term goals saw them surge into the lead at the final change.

Not to be denied, Lyndhurst rose to the challenge, booting a further three goals in the last quarter to escape with a narrow nine-point victory.

In the later game, Hallam consolidated its stranglehold on top spot with another dominant victory, this time thrashing Dandenong by 107 points.

The Hawks were simply sublime as they held the Redlegs scoreless for the first three quarters, in the process opening up a 98-point lead by the final change.

Dandenong saved face with two goals in the last quarter, but it wasn't enough to prevent the final deficit blowing out beyond triple digits.
