Heatherton Announces 2018 Senior Coach

The colours might be the same, but Oakleigh District premiership coach Shayne Sheedy will be swapping the sash for stripes in 2018.

Sheedy has recently been announced as the new coach of Heatherton, and will bring plenty of Division 1 experience and a winning culture to Ross Street next season.

Sheedy has enjoyed a long and successful coaching career at Princes Highway over many years. He also spent a couple of seasons at Cheltenham before returning to lead the club to a drought-breaking Division 2 premiership in 2015 and a Preliminary Final in the higher grade the following year.

President John Bennett said the club was delighted with the appointment, and added that Sheedy was looking forward to the challenge of rebuilding the club and lifting it up from Division 3 in the near future.

Meanwhile, the club has also appointed Andrew Coffey to the role of Football Manager. Coffey, a former coach of the Tonners, will oversee the club's football department, including player recruitment, in 2018.

Any players interested in joining Heatherton for next season should contact President John Bennett on 0411 161 385.
