Grand Finals: Netball Preview

Division: A1

Dingley (1) vs Cheltenham (1)

The rematch of the 2nd semi-final will play out this weekend. Cheltenham proved they were hungry enough for it with the win over Caulfield this week and will be looking to keep the momentum going into the grand final.  They will need to play an intense and consistent four quarters if they are to have any hope in taking the premiership win from the dominant Dingley who has proved to be a tough force to be reckoned with all season.

Division: A2

Port Melbourne Colts (1) vs Dingley (2)

Another rematch of the 2nd semi-final.  Two weeks ago Dingley went down to Port Melbourne by a convincing 12 points.  After a positive win this week they will need to take the time to reset and go into Saturday playing their own game to their own strengths.  They only trailed by 1 at quarter time in the 2nd semi-final so going out on the attack and keeping that strong consistent output across the quarters could very well get them the crown.  They also have some club magic with three A grade grand finals which certainly could spur them on.

Port Melbourne though has had an epic season with their team really gelling, pulling off some fantastic plays and they are pumped to be in the grand final.  No doubt they will be going all out in this grand final.  Expect to see some excellent competition.

Division 3

Springvale Districts (1) vs Dingley (3)

Dingley will be bursting with positive energy having just won two finals in a row to secure their spot in the grand final.  If they can just channel this they might be able to scare Springvale in the first half and really give them a run for their money.

Springvale have been the most successful team all season with only one loss.  They know that it’s the best team on the day and will be ready to bring their A game for the premiership they have really earned all season.

Division 4

Mordialloc (2) vs South Yarra (2)

South Yarra will also be pumped heading into this grand final having just won two finals in a row to secure their position.

This will be a game of who finished fourth vs first on the ladder which will give Mordialloc confidence going into the most important game of the season.  Though we do love an underdog story don’t we?  If South Yarra can focus and channel the past two weeks' energy they might be able to whip up some magic against the strong force that is Mordialloc.
