Dragons move made official

Following approval by AFL Victoria, the Southern Dragons have been officially welcomed back to the SFL. 

In a statement following the announcement, SFL CEO David Cannizzo said he was delighted to welcome the Dragons back to the SFL.

"The Southern Dragons have made a determination that their long-term future lies in the SFL, and we whole-heartedly agree with that notion."

"The Dragons are a young club but are a vital cog in providing yet another pathway for multicultural players to be introduced to our great game."

The Southern Dragons will play in Division 3 in 2015.
