The Southern Football Netball League advises that Heatherton Recreation Reserve is unsuitable for Division 3 Finals this weekend (27 & 28 August), which is holding significant surface water due to heavy rain in the last few days.
As a result, this weekend’s Division 3 Qualifying and Elimination Finals will be moved to alternate venues as follows:
Saturday’s Division 3 Qualifying Finals will be moved to Hallam Recreation Reserve, Frawley Road, Hallam on Saturday 27 August
Sunday’s Division 3 Elimination Finals will be moved to Power Reserve, Power Road, Doveton on Sunday 28 August.
A recent inspection of Hallam Recreation Reserve and Power Reserve showed the grounds to be in excellent condition with a firm surface and no surface water.
Following a comprehensive examination of all other possible finals hosting venues, it was found that these were unavailable this weekend, due to either junior grand finals, super rules finals, unsuitable ground conditions and logistics around access.
The League envisage that moving games this week will ideally give Heatherton Recreation Reserve more time to improve for the later weeks of finals.
