ROUND 3 PREVIEW

Ashwood vs Hallam (Essex Heights Reserve)

 V

Ashwood started its season with an impressive away win over Black Rock, before proving no match for the division’s likely benchmark, Hampton Park.

This week, the Magpies will provide their fans with abundant entertainment in a substantial win over a gallant but outclassed Hallam.

Black Rock vs Endeavour Hills (MacDonald Reserve)

 V

Black Rock put a disappointing Round 1 performance behind it, travelling to the difficult Fritsch Holzer Park and crushing home team South Yarra.

Now back on home soil, the Jets face a more daunting assignment.

This week’s challenger is Endeavour Hills, fresh off a win over highly regarded Springvale Districts.

The Falcons start as firm favourites, but their vaunted fitness will be put to the test.

A spate of injuries forced Endeavour Hills to finish its draining Round 2 match with no substitutes left to call on.

Expect the Falcons to have the depth and fitness to run out the game and the class to see off the Jets in an entertaining encounter.

Hampton Park vs South Yarra (Robert Booth Reserve)

 V

It’s been a horror start to the season for South Yarra.

The side has suffered a couple of hefty losses, and visiting unbeaten Hampton Park is the last thing the Yarras need.

The Redbacks will expose them mercilessly on the expanses of Robert Booth Reserve.

Springvale Districts vs Heatherton (Springvale Reserve)

 V

Several changes are certain to be made to Springvale Districts’ side after the setback of two losses in three games.

Expect a stinging onfield response from those Demons selected to play Heatherton as players look to impress.

The Tonners bring the confidence of a long-awaited win, but face a far more imposing opponent this week.

Anticipate Springvale Districts taking charge early and not letting up, with a 1-3 start unacceptable for a list as strong as the Demons.
