Demons Through to Seymour Law Cup Decider

Bentleigh are the first team through to the inaugural Seymour Law Cup Grand Final after a comfortable 58-point victory over Hampton in a shortened match at Springvale Reserve last night.

The unbeaten Demons were in complete control of the match from the outset, and with winners all over the park they had no difficulty in keeping the scoreboard constantly ticking over.

They were also exceptional defensively, keeping the Hammers to just two behinds before bad weather stopped play at three quarter time.

In the earlier game, Mount Waverley claimed its second victory of the preseason tournament, proving too strong for Doveton Eagles.

A tight opening stanza saw the two sides separated by just eight points, and a hard-fought contest was on the cards. However, the Mountain Lions were far too good from that point on, banging on 10 goals to two to run out comprehensive 54-point winners.
